A Weekly Skincare Reset for Men in the UAE Heat

If you live in the UAE, your skin works hard. Long summers, humidity, sweat, sunscreen, air conditioning, and for many men, shaving most days. The result is often skin that feels oily by lunchtime, clogged around the nose, and rough along the jaw.

You don't need a ten-step routine to fix that. You need a good daily basic, plus one proper reset a week.

What the heat does to your skin

  • More oil and sweat. Heat and humidity mean more sweat and oil sitting on your skin, which mixes with dust and sunscreen.
  • Clogged pores. That build-up collects in pores, especially on the nose, forehead and chin.
  • Dry patches at the same time. Hours in air-conditioned offices and cars can leave skin dehydrated, even when it looks oily.
  • Shaving stress. Daily shaving takes a toll on the skin along the jaw and neck.

The daily basics (2 minutes)

  1. Wash your face morning and night with a gentle cleanser, not body soap.
  2. Use a light moisturiser, a gel or lotion rather than a heavy cream.
  3. Wear sunscreen every day. In the UAE this isn't optional, even in winter.

The weekly reset (20 minutes)

Once a week, give your skin a proper deep clean. A Dead Sea mud mask is ideal here: it lifts away the oil and build-up that daily washing misses.

  1. Pick a non-shaving day. Don't apply a mask straight after shaving, when skin is more sensitive. Friday or Saturday works well.
  2. Wash your face to remove sweat and sunscreen.
  3. Apply a thin layer of mud over your face, avoiding your eyes and mouth. Focus on the nose, forehead and chin, where oil builds up most.
  4. Leave it for 15–20 minutes. Have a coffee, check your phone, take a shower.
  5. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
  6. Moisturise. Your skin will absorb it better now.

Don't forget the body

If you train at the gym or spend time outdoors, your back, chest and shoulders deal with a lot of sweat too. The same mud works there, once or twice a week, applied in the shower and rinsed off after 15 minutes. For regular body use, the 250 ml jar or a Duo pack lasts longest.

The bottom line

Good skin in the UAE comes down to consistency, not complexity: cleanse, moisturise and protect every day, then reset once a week. Twenty minutes is all it takes.
